Tan happy with 2015 setup after pre-season!

Singaporean racing driver, Yuey Tan is happy after kicking off the year with pre-season testing for Team Jebsen.
Over the off season, Carrera Cup veteran Tan put pen to paper as he signed a deal with Team Jebsen, one of Asia’s most successful Porsche racing teams. From then till now, the new driver team combination has been busy preparing for the 2015 season ahead, starting with the official pre-season test at the Sepang International Circuit.
“It’s always nice to be back for another year of motor racing with the guys,” said Tan as he entered his 7th full season of the Carrera Cup Asia. “Though this year is particularly special as I join Team Jebsen and one of my close friends, Rodolfo Avila as my teammate!”
“Pre-season testing went well. There are definitely gains that we have managed to achieve on the off season with the car, and we are getting the best out of the car even with the new technical upgrades. So we are happy with our start to the season. We also manage to do many qualifying runs and a new race setup which we are still learning about. Let’s hope we can make it work!”

Although remaining positive this season, Tan knows that he has his work cut out for him with the class B category being as competitive as ever before. His main rivals are most likely to be the usual suspects in the form of Francis Tjia and Ringo Chong, with the vastly experienced Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak also entering the frame.
“Vutthikorn is massively experienced and we can guess that he is going to be the man to beat this season. To beat a driver of his calibre to the championship would be special. Though I haven’t forgotten that our package has also gotten faster and I am still improving so I’m sure its going to be an interesting year of racing ahead!”
During the 2013 and 2014, Tan has finished runner up in category, losing to eventual champions Egidio Perfetti and Alif Hamdan respectively.
“Winning would be good this season!” continued Tan. “Though with Vutthikorn around, its not going to be easy. Of course there’s Francis Tjia and Ringo Chong too. Every year there’s always a few guys that are up there. This season won’t be any different.”
The start of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season kicks off with the Shanghai Formula 1 GP Weekend on April 10-12.
