Top 3 guaranteed places!

The top three drivers from the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia class B title race are all guaranteed top three finishes in the championship race, no matter what happens in the final race weekend of 2014.
After a gruelling twelve rounds of racing this season, Alif Hamdan, Francis Tjia and Yuey Tan have a tiny margin of five points separating all three drivers. Hamdan still leads the charge with 151 points, Tjia on 148 and Tan on a total of 146, making the title race wide open going into the final round this month.

Fourth place Wayne Shen is sitting on a total of 96 points with two rounds to go, 50 points away of his closest rival Tan. With 20 points for a win, 18 for 2nd and 16 for 3rd, Shen is too far away to get 3rd spot in the title race, even if he were to win both races in Shanghai and Tan DNF during both rounds. This has made it a three horse race going into the last two rounds of the season.
“At the start of the season, it was always the plan with Alif to make sure that we didn’t take each other out. We wanted to go clear at the top so come the end of the season, we could battle it out! And here we are five points apart.”
Regular Porsche Cup driver, Francis Tjia also sees himself right in the mix of the title chase, after a string of consistent performances that have kept him in the title hunt. “It is not going to be easy at all. Alif has been bloody quick over the last few races and frankly we haven’t showed the pace necessary to be successful against him! Francis is also one that you can always count on to put in a good performance. He is very consistent, strong and competitive. Always a nice guy to go racing with.
Though a lot can happen in motor racing so I will push hard on track and then see what happens! Hopefully the conditions will suit me and I can win again.”

Alif Hamdan is leading the title charge after consistently being in front of Tan for a vast majority of the season. “Let’s see what happens next! To be honest I didn’t think we’d be this close this far into the season. Alif is a great driver and has looked very quick since the first pre-season test this year. So to be five points away is something that I am happy about. Though we did manage to go quicker then everyone on a damp track in class, on our last visit to Shanghai!”
Follow Yuey Tan during the last two rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia on October 17-19th, in Shanghai for a spectacular season finale.
