Singaporean logistics company, SLK Logistics has signed up to support veteran driver Yuey Tan, for the Singapore Grand Prix in 2022.

“It has always been our dream at SLK Logistics to engage in a partnership with a racing team. We watch both Formula 1 and GT cars for decades since the 90s and truly understand how speed, precision and reliability contributes to the overall success of a team. This is second nature to us in our line of work and the opportunity to be a part of Yuey’s campaign to race again at the Singapore Grand Prix after a 2-year absence was an easy decision,” said SLK chief, Soh Gim Hoe.

SLK’s Oliver Chionh also commented on the partnership, being a long term racing fan. “The synergy and experiences we shared while getting prepared for the race will forever be etched on our memories. We have told him to go out there, have some fun and make Singapore proud!”

SLK Logistics will be entering a Porsche 911 GT3 R in THE SUPER SERIES, a support race at the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix World Championship round, submitting its own entry under the SLK RACING name.

The 550 bhp racing 911 is a purpose-built racecar that during its design had special focus to further improving its aerodynamics, further optimized safety as well as increased performance over its predecessor.

Its lightweight body design features an aluminum-steel composite construction with the roof, front hood, fairing, wheel arches, doors, side and tail sections as well as the rear lid and interior trip all being made of light carbon fibre composite material (CFRP) with all of the windows being made by a polycarbonate.

“It’s surreal to have the SLK RACING Team name being entered into the Singapore Grand Prix as this was a dream that came to fruition. The Marina Bay Street Circuit is an iconic and stunning street circuit that we have missed on the F1 calendar! We still can’t quite believe it though we are completely ecstatic about it. It will be a historic day for SLK when we register our team’s name on August 29th!

How often does a Singaporean company get to back a Singaporean racing driver in the Singapore Grand Prix ? It is truly is a perfect way to make our debut in motor racing.“ concluded Soh.

Yuey Tan, 40, will enter under the team name, SLK Racing, with the primary sponsor being Singaporean veteran logistics firm, SLK Logistics. Alongside the all-Singaporean new look racing team, will be Vietnamese Car Dealership K-Supper, Singaporean brewery Brewlander, Camera manufacturer Leica Cameras, Oakley Sunglasses and Fearnley LNG.
