Leica joins forces with Yuey Tan!

Leica Camera Asia Pacific, and Singaporean driver Yuey Tan, have teamed up for the remainder of the 2014 season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

“It is a partnership that I am very happy about and one that makes sense,” said Tan. “Leica cameras undoubtedly have made the best cameras in the world for a very long time and had achieved this through very similar philosophies to motor racing which include passion, quality, sustainability and innovation. Porsche and Leica are also from Germany which oozes precision engineering and quality and I am thrilled to have a partnership with both manufacturers.”

Leica Camera shares something with countless people around the world: a love of, and a passion for, photography. It’s the fascination of capturing a moment in time – shaping it, transforming it into something timeless and experiencing it again and again as a unique photograph. Leica Camera AG was originally founded under the name Leitz in 1913 in Germany and was only renamed Leica due to the strength of the brand, in 1986. Leica Cameras are still designed and manufactured in Germany till this day.

The premium camera manufacturer is most famous for its ‘M’ rangefinder series with its first version, the M3 in 1954 to the present day Leica M model. They also produce other digital models that include the stylish Leica C, versatile Leica D-Lux range with the all new Leica T Camera System and the Leica System which is at the top of its range, all currently available at all good Leica retail stores around the world.

“History can be written – or photographed. For 100 years now, famous photographers from around the world have been capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments with their Leica camera. Moments that remain unforgettable. Supporting the fervent enthusiasts in realising their dreams to be able to capture their decisive moments, it is only natural for Leica to collaborate with Yuey Tan and Havelock Racing in their pursuit for racing perfection. From all of us at Leica Camera, we look forward to an exciting race season with Yuey and cannot wait to capture these precious moments through the brilliant eyes of Leica Camera.” said Mr Sunil Kaul, Managing Director of Leica Camera Asia Pacific.

In Singapore, Leica stores are located at Raffles Arcade as well as ION Orchard, Mandarin Gallery and Vivo City.

“The cameras are absolutely fantastic,” continued Tan, “I shoot my personal photos on a Leica M as well and it is truly the best camera I have ever shot on. The team will also be shooting its official photography off track on Leica’s newest release, the Leica T in addition to the M System. Not only is it a fantastic camera but it is a thing of beauty as well.”

“I would like to thank Sunil Kaul and Gracia Yap for making all of this possible and I look forward to this new partnership with such a well-established brand in Leica Cameras.” Watch Yuey Tan and Leica Cameras in their new partnership as they head to the next round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in Kuala Lumpur on August 15-17.
